Ondine has encouraged and empowered the women of Senegal through the workshops set up by CSAO (an organisation founded by Ondine's mother, Valerie Schlumberger). Embroidery is an ancestral tradition in Senegal, and through these workshops, West African women can use their skills to gain financial independence and revitalise their artisanal craft. Previously unable to make a living in difficult circumstances, these women can now provide for their families with a regular income, while creating through meticulous craftsmanship, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Each piece by CSAO is unique because it involves the handwork of these talented women. We have been proud stockists of CSAO after stumbling across them in Paris. We wanted to shine a light on Ondine, because not only is she an entrepreneurial and creative woman, but she is bringing that energy to many other women too...

Chilean-born designer Maria Cornejo transformed a raw space in New York’s Nolita into a very personal store and atelier named Zero. The garments are founded on original principles of taking the fundamental geometric shapes and transforming them into unexpectedly simple garments based on sophisticated cuts and angles using volume and circular shapes as a starting point. Timelessness, ease, and a modern take on luxury are the essence of Zero + Maria Cornejo. This is how our customers feel too, and over 20 years, Zero has been a firm favourite at the Cross, with key pieces still hanging in our customers’ wardrobes (Gabi Trousers anyone?)

We wanted to shine a light on Maria because, this year, Zero is celebrating their 25th anniversary. This symbolises a woman and a collective of endurance and evolution in the fashion world. 

 

Veronica’s work is rooted by her wanderlust for travel. From the chaos and glitter of the urban jungle to hedonistic beaches, Veronica has travelled far and wide, and it is reflected in her art. We are proud to present these beautiful Blessing Boxes. For all the female warriors out there, this is a celebration of glitter, neon and colour. Adorning inspirational messages and created using a collection of trinkets, each box is a one-of-a-kind piece.
