Edina Ronay Vintage Cream Intarsia Floral Sweater
This autumn, we are overjoyed to present a very special and exclusive collection with our long-time friend and designer, Edina Ronay. Earlier this year, Edina and her husband sold their family home in London. In the moving process, Edina unearthed an amazing archive in her attic. Stowed safely in a pile of boxes, pristine vintage samples and large swatches of old fair-isle patterns were discovered. Edina was pleasantly surprised to find a treasure trove of pieces in pretty immaculate condition.
The Cross has hand-selected an edit of beautiful Fairisle and intarsia knits dating back to the 1970s and 1980s, some made from mercerised cotton, others in a hardier Shetland wool.
Edina's mercerised cotton was sourced from a British company who dyed colours specifically for her. It meant that Edina had a lot of creative flexibility as they could produce the most unusual and unique colours.
This specific piece was made to go with Edina's signature silk ditsy tea dresses.
