Flowers at the Saatchi Gallery
Here at the Cross, we have always had a soft spot for florals and a few of us have taken a visit down to Chelsea to check out the Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art & Culture exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery. An absolute celebration of the beauty, symbolism and creative power of flowers, we think it’s essential for all floral enthusiasts to visit.
Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of showcasing floral works by a wide range of artists and photographers, including Brenda Sakoui, Ingrid Rasmussen, and Sam McEwan, as well as designers like Susannah Hunter and Edina Ronay, who use print and appliqué to celebrate the beauty of flowers. Our love of florals runs deep! It was a true delight to see pieces by artists who once exhibited in our intimate boutique, featured in all their glory at the show. Seeing artists like Rebecca Louise Law and Rose Electra Harris rise within the art world is a joy—and a proud moment for us.
Rebecca Louise Law at the Cross, 2014
Rose Electra Harris is a London-based artist who grew up within the antique dealing business and has always been surrounded and intrigued by antiques and textiles. Vases of flowers are a common motif in her work and her vivid palette and distorted images give these compositions a dreamlike quality.

Rebecca Louise Law is known for creating immersive installations using natural materials, with preserved flowers becoming the signature of her most recognised works. Each piece is individually sewn and suspended. We discovered Rebecca’s work in the early 2010s on Colombia Road and collaborated on a breathtaking window installation.

Rebecca's installation really is the showstopper of the exhibition, with the central room completely devoted to her breathtaking display of over 100,000 dried flowers.
